media is very much part of the Deep State. Nick Davies' Flat Earth News
has a whole chapter dedicated to the efforts of the CIA and other
western security agencies to get their placemen into influential media
outlets.
Many journalists
of my generation ended up in journalism because of Woodward and
Bernstein's role in bringing down Nixon. The opening of this article,
with details of how Woodward ended up at the Washington Post, is a real
eye-opener in itself.
