This piece by former British
ambassador Craig Murray about the poisoning of former Russian
intelligence officer Sergei Skripal in the British city of Salisbury is
largely speculative, but no more so – possibly less so – than a lot of
the coverage so far in the British and US media.
Murray
offers a very useful counter-narrative – suggesting other actors who had
motive and opportunity – that reminds us there are absolutely no
grounds to rush to judgment on who is responsible.
Not that that is likely to stop the political and media classes who are
so determined to confect a "Putin is an evil global mastermind"
narrative.
